O'Boy!' The world's most famous people from Porvoo living in Bergen, Petri Stiletti and Peki Bananasplitz, proudly present Radio Transformator available on the internet on Friday December 3rd . The project can be heard all over the world at the same time and it has got a lot of attention in both Norwegian and international medias.
"The project started three years ago when I started working as a dolphin scientist at the Sea laboratory in Bergen. The whole thing began from a simple idea from Peki, to replace the sonic sensor of the dolphin satellite transformator with a radio wave sensor that also can be used underwater, tells Petri Stiletti. Every radio program is sent via satellite signals to a dolphin called Leo's sensor, that has been created for scientic purpose. This sensor changes the signal into frequencies that our friend in Stavanger is capable to recieve. He is converting this signal in realtime into a digital format, that can be listened to as a normal net radio, Petri explains. Probably it makes no difference for the listener how the sound is created, Peki laughs. But a good show is a good show and we still think the most important thing is, that both we and the dolphins are having a good time, he continues"

Voi pojat! Maailman kuuluisimmat Bergenissä asuvat porvoolaiset Petri Stiletti ja Peki Bananasplitz esittelevät ylpeänä perjantaina 3.12. netinkautta kuunneltavan radio Transformatorin. Projekti on kuunneltavissa samanaikaisesti ympäri maailmaa ja se on saanut jo laajalti huomiota sekä norjalaisissa että kansainvälisissä medioissa.
"Projekti sai alkunsa kolme vuotta sitten aloittaessani työskentelyn delfiinien tutkijana Bergenin merentutkimuslaitoksessa. Homma lähti liikkeelle yksinkertaisesti Pekin ideasta korvata delfiinien signaalilähetin veden alla toimivalla radiolähettimellä, kertoo Petri Stiletti. Jokainen radiolähetys toimii siten että lähetämme radiospektaakkelimme radioaaltoja pitkin tutkimustarkoitusta varten seurannassa olevan delfiini Leon vastaanottimeen, joka muuntaa lähetyksen radiotaajuudelle jonka Stavangerissa asuva ystävämme vastaanottaa. Vastaanotettu signaali muunnetaan reaaliaikaisesti digitaaliseen muotoon jota on mahdollista kuunnella normaalin nettiradion tavoin, jatkaa Petri radiolähetyksen tekniikasta kertomista. Radiolähetyksen kuuntelijalle on varmastikin yhdentekevää miten ääni syntyy, naurahtaa Peki. - Meistä on kuitenkin hauska ajatus että lähetys kulkee delfiinin matkassa ennen kuin se päätyy normaalin radiokuuntelijan korviin. Pääasia on että meillä ja delfiineillä on hauskaa!!!"
